With the political change that occurred in March 2000, Senegal has opted for liberal economy oriented towards public-private partnership. Major infrastructure projects have been submitted to APIX through an assignment letter written by the president of the Republic, with the aim of turning Senegal into an investment centre, within the framework of a dynamic, modern and world-opened economy.
This project is about the building of a new international airport, to replace the existing Leopold Sedar Senghor airport of Dakar-Yoff ; this new airport will be built to meet the demand in mid-term and long-term air traffic.
